Avengers Endgame: What We Know So Far

The final Avengers film is almost here and fans are eagerly awaiting the big screen debut of their favorite team. While no official release date has been announced, we’ve compiled a list of what we know about the movie so far.

Marvel Studios chairman Kevin Feige recently hinted that the film would be longer than originally planned, with time for “additional scenes” not included in the initial shooting script. With so many characters and storylines to juggle, it’s no surprise that they’ve chosen to stretch Endgame out even further.

Here’s everything we know about Avengers: Endgame so far…

Is the Film a Surprise?

Avengers Endgame is a surprise to many, with only a few minor plot points known ahead of time. While some have speculated whether or not the film is a secret project by Marvel Studios, the studio has since shut down all speculation. Regardless of its true origins, the film is set to release on April 26th and is shaping up to be one of the biggest films of all time.

What We Know So Far:
– The film will be released on April 26th
– It will be rated PG-13 for violence and disturbing images
– The cast includes Chris Evans (Captain America), Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man), Chris Hems worth (Thor), Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow), Mark Ruffalo (The Hulk), Tom Hiddleston (Loki), Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye), and Don Cheadle (War Machine)
– The film is set in 2019 after the events of Avengers: Infinity War – Infinity War is set to be followed by an untitled Avengers sequel- Anthony Russo and Joe Russo, who directed the film will direct TWS after Infinity Wars release- Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evans will return for Avengers 4- The film will be written by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFee. The Russo Brothers are directing the film. The brothers have been together on all Marvel Studios projects since Captain America: Winter Soldier in 2014. They have also directed episodes of several television shows, including Community, Arrested Development and Happy Endings. Other producers include Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Patricia Whitcher and Stan Lee.

Will Captain America Have a Happy Ending?

Captain America may have a happy ending in Avengers: Endgame. The Russo brothers teased that the film will focus on Steve Rogers’ character arc, and that he will finally be able to find peace after decades of fighting for justice. Fans have been hoping that his redemption will be hinted at throughout the movie, with some believing that he might die at the hands of Thanos. However, it seems that Captain America’s story could end on a high note.

Will Thor Die?

Thor’s fate in the Avengers Endgame is still up in the air. Since his death at the hands of Thanos in Infinity War, Marvel fans have been debating whether or not he will make a return in some form. However, recent reports seem to suggest that Thor may not die after all.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige is “early in development” on a new Thor movie and they are still “evaluating” whether or not to include his death in the Endgame. This could mean that Thor’s return is still a possibility, but it’s also possible that Marvel has other plans for him.

Fans of the character will no doubt be anxiously waiting to find out more about Thor’s future. If he does die in Endgame, it’ll be a heartbreaking moment for fans who have come to love him over the course of the MCU.

Thor may not make it out of the film alive. According to Collider, endgame director Joe and Anthony Russo have teased that the God of Thunder may meet his demise at the hands of Thanos. While this isn’t officially confirmed, it’s hard to imagine Marvel would kill off one of their most popular characters without good reason. If Thor does die in Endgame, it could pave the way for a potential Thor: Ragnarok sequel. Thor will next appear in Avengers: Endgame on April 26, 2019. He’s also set for standalone films in 2021, 2025 and 2026. It’s unclear if Marvel will use the God of Thunder to headline either a fourth Avengers movie or a Joss Whedon-penned Thor trilogy.

Can Iron Man Escape Thanos’s Infinity Gauntlet?

Iron Man is one of the Avengers and arguably one of the most powerful superheroes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. But can he escape Thanos’s Infinity Gauntlet?

The Infinity Gauntlet is a powerful artifact that Thanos acquired in the end of Avengers: Infinity War. The Gauntlet allows its wearer to control all six infinity stones. Thanos uses the Gauntlet to snap his fingers, causing rifts in space and time that sucked half of the universe’s population into black holes.

In Endgame, Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) is one of the few remaining members of the Avengers. He’s been imprisoned on Titan along with Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), and Spider-Man (Tom Holland).

Thanos plans to use the power of the Infinity Gauntlet to wipe out half of all life in the universe. To prevent this, Iron Man must find and collect the six Infinity Stones.

So far, we know that Iron Man will face off against Thanos on Titan. The fight will likely take place inside a giant machine known as The Accuser. The Accuser is said to be “the mightiest weapon in existence.”
