Sakuya starts to question everything about her life – why she’s so shy why she doesn’t have any friends why she’s content with being alone. With Rika by her side, she sets out on a journey to find the answers to these questions and more.

Other important characters include:

-Sakuya’s grandparents: Her only family, they raised her from a young age and are very supportive of her. They worry about her sometimes but they know that she’s strong and capable of taking care of herself.

-Rika’s parents: We don’t see much of them in the story but they are mentioned briefly. They own a successful business and are always busy with work. This leaves Rika feeling lonely and neglected at times.

Themes in Hakanai Kimi wa Moukou wo Hajimeru

There are a few themes that make it such an interesting read. For one it comments on the power of words and how they can shape our reality. It also touches on the idea of fate and whether or not we can control our own destinies.

The story centers around two characters Akari and Ryousuke. Akari is a young woman who has just started working at a new company. She’s shy and doesn’t really know how to socialize with her co-workers. The only person she feels comfortable talking to is Ryousuke the man who sits next to her at work.
